Solar Opportunities

EQUARES Energy Company partners have longstanding solar design and installation services. Our team can provide comprehensive renewable energy to a variety of markets.  We are able to develop, finance, build, and operate commercial, utility-scale solar PV projects.  The team has developed and/or built over 100 MW of solar PV projects across the US. We succeed by listening to our partners and clients, offering flexible, innovative solutions tailored to their needs, and driving the project to successful completion with well-honed risk management and operational discipline.

For example, our team member developed the Katama Farm project in Edgartown, MA on Martha’s Vineyard, part of the award winning CVEC and Town of Dennis portfolio of projects. At 1.2 MW, this project will save the town an estimated $45,153 in the first year and approximately $1.6 million cumulatively over the life of the 20-year Power Purchase Agreement.

Buckman Irrigation District Water Treatment Plant

Mounting Type: Ground mounted tracker

Construction Timeline: 8 weeks

Type of Financing: Power Purchase Agreement

Technology Deployed: 4,224 Suntech 275 modules, Array Technologies single axis tracker, 2 Advanced Energy 500 kW inverters, and combiner level monitoring

Implementation Highlights:

–  This project was constructed during the winter in sub-zero temperatures.

– This project was the first installation of Suntech’s Reliathon modules, which has a frame specifically engineered for installation with the Array Technologies single axis tracker.

There are many projects to choose from including roof-mount systems that can accommodate small or large buildings.

Kit Carson Solar CarportKit-Carson-Carport_shrunk

This project was built on behalf of the Kit Carson Electric Coop for Taos campus of the University of New Mexico.  This carport array is 140 kW, and provides shading for the parking lot as well as clean energy.

Hybrid projects include this one installed for a California nursery.

Houweling’s Hot House

Houweling’s Hot House is a commercial nursery located in Camarillo, CA.

System Size: 1 MW of crystalline PV and 1 MW of solar thermal

Mounting Type: Ground and pole mounted PV tracker and solar thermal

Construction Timeline: 20 weeks for both the PV and thermal components

Technology Deployed: Schuco modules, ViaSol tracker, SatCon inverters, and a custom built platform to vault the panels 20 feet in the air.

Implementation Highlights:

-The PV portion of the system was engineered for installation 20 feet over a retention pond.  This created several design hurdles.  The team was able to meet these hurdles head on and develop the largest photovoltaic and solar thermal combination systems in the country.

-The thermal system was built on top of the nursery’s wash-house.
